A burger that comes apart layer by layer as you scroll, on a page that opens in 2.6 seconds on slow mobile.

For DUMAN, a smash burger concept project, we built a scroll-driven exploded-burger animation. Initial load times ran up to 40 seconds on slow mobile networks; by sharpening individual frames and optimizing file sizes, we reduced that to 2.6 seconds.

Page load time

We cut the initial 40+ second load time by compressing page assets from 20.8 MB to 2.6 MB. Both figures are Google Lighthouse measurements.

✦ Context

Instead of a static photo and price list, we put the burger front and center. As visitors scroll, the burger deconstructs into eight distinct layers, followed by the menu, takeout packaging, and a seven-room venue tour.

Camera-free visual and video production

We generated opening frames and video sequences using AI tools. To maintain crisp detail, we kept movement across scenes slow and intentional.

A space tour without an actual shoot

Since there was no physical space, we designed a seven-room burger spot set in Kadıköy using AI. By generating depth layers for each room, we created interactive scenes that shift subtly with the cursor.

✦ What we did · 03

A brand identity rooted in paper

We grounded the visual identity in butcher-paper cream and ketchup red. The menu mimics an order ticket, announcements look like admission stubs, and ingredient stickers were created with AI.

Work in progress

In the takeout sequence, the burger lost its structure as the box lid closed. After testing multiple image generations, we chose to rebuild the burger from scratch to fit the box proportions precisely.

Burger layers deconstructing on scroll

This is not a looping background video. Frames advance in sync with your scroll speed and settle into full clarity whenever you pause.

Visual production workflow

  1. 01First frame in Gemini
  2. 02Short video in Kling 3.0
  3. 03Crop the watermark, split into frames
  4. 04Sharpen with Real-ESRGAN (60% blend)
  5. 05In-between frames with RIFE
  6. 06AVIF sets for desktop and mobile

We run these rendering workflows locally on our own hardware rather than relying on cloud services. We smoothed out the in-between frames to eliminate blur and keep every transition crisp.

✦ Status and outcome

DUMAN is a concept build focused squarely on load speed and asset weight. Bringing a rich, asset-heavy page down to 2.6 seconds on slow mobile proves this approach works for high-volume paid traffic landing pages.
